A HOUSE WITH A SOUL, IN A VILLAGE WITH SOUL.
Dating back to the 1860s, this is one of the oldest houses of Monda.
The result is one of the true gems of Andalucia. Ready to move into. And fully and legally suitable for a holiday rental business, for Town Hall is granting this house the LFO ("License of First Occupation").
On the top floor, the house offers a spacious and romantic master bedroom with Morrocan style bathroom and sun terrace.
You enter the property by the middle floor: instantly you are greeted by a bright and spacious living room with large windows running along the rear leading to the main terrace, where you have the sun all day long. On this middle level is also a kitchen and a dining room that can also be used as a third bedroom or office.
From the living room are stairs leading to the lower floor. On this floor you find a second sitting room with a log burner, and another double bedroom with ensuite.
The property has hot/cold air conditioning units on all three floors. The house has views to the surrounding countryside and plenty of parking space nearby, which is quite unique for a townhouse in a white village.
Not only did the property pass through few hands, each of the previous owners have also respected the origins very much. The latest renovations included making the staircase to the lower level more spacious and easy, and the restyling of the Andalusian kitchen.
Monda is a pretty, whitewashed village at the edge of natural park Sierra de las Nieves, just 15 minutes from the coast of Marbella. Life is peaceful here and at a slow pace. Locals great each other passing by and always have time for a chat or a coffee. Although Monda is an authentic Spanish village, the locals mix very well with the other nationalities present in the village (Dutch, English, Swedish, German).
For a small town, you will be surprised about what this lovely place has to offer. Monda attracts a big group of students each year, as the Marbella Design Academy is situated on the outskirts of the village. There are quite a few bars, restaurants and even two clubs for the younger generation, which are always busy! The fish restaurant with secret garden is a lovely place to enjoy whatever is available that day.. Bar Luna is the place to be and offers the best breakfast and tapas in town, next to live entertainment in Summer.
The village has everything you need, and more: a small supermarket, local bakery, pharmacy, vet clinic, weekly fruit market and did we mention the churros truck on Sunday mornings? The community pool is just a 5 minute walk from the centre of town and if you continue walking, you can explore the beautiful national park Sierra de las Nieves. This is the ideal place for hiking, biking, motor crossing and horseback riding.
At the top of the mountain, overlooking the village, is its most famous feature: 'Castillo de Monda', the Monda castle. The hotel, run by Dutch hosts, also has a fabulous restaurant with stunning views over the village and all the way to Malaga.
Monda is 30 minutes ( 37 km.) from the city of Málaga and the airport. The coast of Marbella is only 15 minutes ( 15 km.) away. IBI Fees: 153 €
